Monday Blues, Tuesday Madness

Well the last two days have not been great ones so far. Yesterday the food category did not go very well. I took the day off b/c it was the one year anniversary of the day my cousin, Kyle, passed away. He was 20 months younger than me, and he (along with his two siblings Jake and Lara) were the closest thing I had to siblings growing up....and they might as well have been in my eyes. We spend birthdays, holidays, vacations, and random weekends together growing up. They are the only cousins I great up with. So when Kyle got sick and was called home to Heaven by God....it was rough. It's been a rough year for me...escpecially since a month later we lost our Papaw too. I completed two sessions of Griefshare which was a HUGE help. It's still hard though. So yesterday I felt it was best to stay home, grieve a little, remember and honor his memory. I did get some fundraising done for the program that sent Kyle on a wonderful trip. See the link below for more information. Pass it a long if you wish to others. Even if you don't wish to donate, prayers are welcome and passing the word along helps too.

Anyway...so since yesterday was such a sollom day....fooding didn't go very well. Didn't really eat much, and what I did eat wasn't very good.

Monday:

Breakfast- Don't really think I ate anything, wasn't hungry...not good I know :(
Lunch- Peanut butter sandwich on a hamburger bun...couldnt find the bread (oops)
Snack- Some chicken nuggets from the freezer :-\ bad again
Dinner- Small piece of pizza and 1 breadstick (left overs)...I wasn't really hungry but Nate wouldn't let me watch my show until I ate something
Dessert- Few pieces of chocolate from christmas
Drinks- water, milk, 1 odouls (to satisfy the beer flavor craving without alcohol)

Yeah...BIG fail on the day

Today was better but probably haven't had what I need calorie wise. Work was just a big heap of poo today b/c I was by myself, customers were just giving me some problems and had some paperwork disasters...so I was completely behind on my work and just ate to have something to eat.

Tuesday (today):

Breakfast: Low fat string cheese stick
Lunch- 1/2 a small bag of baby carrots and a 100 cal pack of shortbread cookies
Snack- Low fat string cheese stick
Dinner- Big salad with Italian greens, 1/2 of a chopped green pepper, craisins, few croutons, and a little lite Marie's creamy ranch dressing...which is quite good.

Thinking I may eat something else before bed b/c my tummy hurts a little...or may have somemore of that chocolate haha. But I don't think it would hurt me since I've probably had all of 500 callories or less today. Maybe I'll make some chicken nuggets to get some protein.

Well...my back is killing me today so I think I will stop for today. Have a good night everyone!

  1. Sorry you had a rough day on Monday. It's a good thing you stayed home so you could reflect and focus on keeping it together. <3

Living a healthy lifestyle has been a huge part of my life for the past 2 years. You sound a lot like I did when I first started with my lifestyle change. I had a few questions, if that's okay: Do you have a goal in mind? Are you trying to lose a certain amount of weight or are you just trying to feel more in control of your health? Are you exercising at all?

Hang in there! I'm rooting for you!

  2. Thank Megan!
I don't really have a solid goal right at the moment. I've been trying to figure out how I can make things work. My ideal would be to loose about 15-20lbs and tone up...but I'm thinking in the real world it's more like 10lbs. My health though is more important than weight. So if I can just have a healthy life style, I can be satisfied with that.

Not really working out at the moment. I really can't afford a gym membership if I'm going to work on savings. I'd love to walk/jog, but i leave for work before the sun comes up and i get home after the sun goes down...and we don't live in an area that is good for walking, especially at night. I'd do stuff in the house, but it's a really old house and every time we made a quick or hard movement the whole house shakes and thinks fall off the entertainment center/bookcases/etc haha. So i'm still trying to work on the whole working out thing.

  3. Gina,

Megan and I do exercise tv! It's free ondemand so you can do it right at home and cost nothing. We like Jillian Michaels, and yes there is some cardio stuff but she also does circuit training so there really isn't that much jumping around. More things like squats and lunges and arm presses. We absolutely love it and have lost weight thanks to that and livestrong. I did "Boost Metabolism" for a while and then over the holidays I stopped working out for several weeks but didn't gain any of the weight back. So it really did boost my metabolism and change my lifestyle rather then just work out for a few weeks. I highly recommend it. There are tons of other free stuff out there if you get on demand. Some of them are easy - but at least you're doing something and trying, and some of them are hard - but I have no problem cheating since I know I'm working as hard as I can.

Plus it might help with your sleep. You'll feel better overall and then maybe you'll be more tired when you sleep so you'll get a good nights rest and wake up feeling rejuvenated!
